Scott Simmons was born in rural West Tennessee and didn't really realize that movies and tv had to be made by actual people until he went to college. After getting degrees in both Television Production and Graphic Design he was in one of the early graduating classes at the Watkins Film School in Nashville, Tennessee. During that time at Watkins he discovered editing. While most of his classmates in film school wanted to be directors, Scott saw real career opportunities in post production and took a job as an assistant editor after completing film school. In 1999, Scott took the leap into freelancing and in 2007 accepted a position as an editor at Filmworkers - Nashville. In 2005 Scott created The Editblog a website dedicated to all things editing and post-production which is now housed here at PVC. Someday he hopes to edit on a beach with a touch screen device, a wireless hard drive and a Red Stripe.

Born in the UK , Dan took a gap year in Whistler, British Columbia after high-school which planted the seed for a mountain obsession. While his passion for mountain life took a backseat as he finished an Aerospace Engineering degree in England, it wasn't long before he returned to the mountains to start shooting his friends in action. Dan spends 8 months of the year chasing winter around the globe shooting the worlds best skiers and snowboarders for companies like Oakley, Salomon and Columbia. His work has been featured in ski and snowboard magazines from Japan to Canada and everywhere in between as well as innumerable commercial campaigns for an ever widening list of clients. He now lives in the resort town of Whistler when he is not on the road, which provides the perfect backdrop for many other types of adventure, landscape and nature photography. Since starting a blog on his website a few years ago Dan’s interest in all things digital has pushed him to learn, write and teach about many aspects of photography from HDSLR movie making to HDR photography and of course share his knowledge about ski and snowboard photography.
TecnoTur | Allan Tépperrss
Allan Tépper has been working with professional video since the early eighties, since he first learned to edit video using the open-reel 1/2” EIAJ-1 format with a Sony AV-3650 editing deck in his high school in Connecticut. Since 1994, Tépper has been consulting both end-users and manufacturers via his Florida company. Via TecnoTur, Tépper has been giving video technology seminars in several South Florida’s universities and training centers, and in a half dozen Latin American countries, in their native language. Tépper has been a frequent radio/TV guest on several South Florida Latino stations, and on a couple of Venezuelan stations too. As a certified ATA (American Translator Association) translator, Tépper has also translated and localized dozens of advertisements, catalogs, software, and technical manuals for the Spanish and Latin American markets. Over the past 15 years, Tépper’s articles have been published in more than a dozen magazines, newspapers, and electronic media in Latin America, mainly in Producción & Distribución and TTV. In 1998 Tépper founded SOPRÉPROC, the Sociedad para la preservación y progreso del castellano or Society for the Preservation and Evolution of the Castilian language (the world’s most widely used Spanish language). From 2000-2002, Tépper was also the editor of TTV, of the Izarra Group. From the end of 2006 until September 2007, Tépper was the co-director of the South Florida Final Cut Pro User Group. Right now, Tépper is working on more episodes of his TecnoTur audio podcast, which includes international telephone interviews of industry professionals in Spain and Latin America.

Current television mixing includes 4 seasons of the series “Mystery Diners” on Food Network, 2 seasons of “Invention USA” for History Channel as well as 4 seasons of the series “Storage Hunters” for truTV. Woody is author of the college textbook, Audio Production and Post Production, used at universities across the US. Chris & Trish Meyer founded Crish Design (formerly known as CyberMotion) in the very earliest days of the desktop motion graphics industry. Their design and animation work has appeared on shows and promos for CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, HBO, PBS, and TLC; in opening titles for several movies including Cold Mountain and The Talented Mr. Ripley; at trade shows and press events for corporate clients ranging from Apple to Xerox; and in special venues encompassing IMAX, CircleVision, the NBC AstroVision sign in Times Square, and the four-block-long Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas. They were among the original users of CoSA (now Adobe) After Effects, and have written the numerous books including "Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects" and "After Effects Apprentice" both published by Focal Press. Both Chris and Trish have backgrounds as musicians, and are currently fascinated with exploring fine art and mixed media in addition to their normal commercial design work. A 1981 graduate of the Boston University College of Communication, Bruce A. Johnson got his first job in broadcast television at WFTV, an ABC affiliate in Orlando, FL. While there, he rose through the ranks from teleprompter operator to videographer, editor, producer and director of many different types of programming. It was in the early 1980's that he bought his first computer - a Timex/Sinclair 1000 - a device he hated so much, he promptly exchanged it for an Atari 400. But the bug had bitten hard. In 1987, Johnson joined Wisconsin Public Television in Madison as a videographer/editor, and still works there to the present day. His responsibilities have grown, however, and now include research and presentations on the issues surrounding the digital television transition, new consumer technology and the use of public television spectrum in homeland security. He freelances through his company Painted Post MultiMedia, and has written extensively for magazines including DV and Studio Monthly.

A Working Filmmaker | Eric Escobarrss
Eric Escobar is a filmmaker and a filmmaking technology geek. On the filmmaker side, when he was 16, Eric worked as a video store clerk at Bob's Video in Hollister, California, where he was paid to watch movies all day long. A few years later he started making his own movies and never stopped. Eric's films have screened at festivals all over the U.S. and internationally. In 2005, he was awarded an Honorable Mention in Short Filmmaking from the Sundance Grand Jury. Eric has written and directed a dozen short films and a staggering number of industrial videos, commercials and PSAs. On the geeky side of things, he blogs. In the late 90's Eric answered your Premiere and After Effects tech support phone calls at Adobe Systems. From 2001- 2003 he was on the Final Cut Pro Development Team as a QA Engineer at Apple, Inc. Nowadays he likes to develop Magic Bullet Looks Packs for Red Giant Software. Eric currently works as a commercial director for Kontent Films (www.kontentfilms.com) in San Francisco, which is the most awesome job he's ever had.
