The Foundry unveils 3D Camera Tracker for After EffectsFirst look at breakthrough addition to the world’s most popular compositing application.
At NAB 2010, The Foundry revealed its work on a plug-in to bring 3D camera tracking directly into Adobe After Effects. Their Camera Tracker plug-in, currently in pre-beta, looks set to provide long-missing functionality to After Effects, and once it has been added, it will likely transform the type of work seen from After Effects artists. Final Cut Pro “gets” ability to search for words in audioPowerful new search ability uses phonetics to speed media searches Avid and Adobe both have technology that allows users to search for specific words in the audio of their footage, but to date, that ability has not been part of the Final Cut Pro arsenal. A new piece of software from Nexidia and AV3 called “get” allows users to quickly search all their media based on actual spoken words within their content, rather than just Finder level data or FCP metadata. BlackMagic Resolve on Mac OSXIt’s true!
Well, the rumor that started making the rounds last night have been confirmed. Back in September, Blackmagic acquired the venerable and respected da Vinci color correction brand. Ever since, colorists either shuddered or rejoiced to think that today’s events would occur. Today, Blackmagic announced the release of the new DaVinci Resolve 7.0 that includes support for the Mac OS X platform, upgraded user interface, improved video field support, a new EDL library, improved shared database support, as well as new pricing for all models starting from a very affordable $995. After Effects CS5A (p)review of the new version.
Adobe has officially launched Creative Suite 5, which includes major updates to virtually all of their applications. Adobe has seeded us with preliminary versions, and hired us to help create some documentation on the new release; we wanted to share with you our own impressions plus insights into the new features in After Effects CS5. Our Booth Targets at NABWe’ve been training at altitude, getting ready to explore the floor NAB.
We’re giving at total of eight talks at NAB’s PostProduction World this year (click here for the full grid of classes), so that is going to occupy a good deal of our time. In between talks, we’ll be spending most of our time in the South Hall on the lookout for the latest advancements in motion graphics. Fortunately, most of the companies we plan to see are clustered close together (click here for a full list of exhibitors). Below are a few on our hit list:
