Upcoming application logs clips into FCP on your shoot
Here is one last iPhone RealTime video I shot at NAB 2010 that wouldn’t upload via the 3G connection. It’s Shot Logger Pro from Red Lightning Software. It uses a Nintendo Wii remote as one way to trigger the start / stop logging process on your shoot. You can tag and rate shots on set and then bring the logged data into Final Cut Pro. Sorry about the audio quality on this one, it’s not the best but I looks like a cool product.

I don’t think anyone expected Blackmagic’s DaVinci news
By now you’ve probably heard that at NAB 2010 Blackmagic has introduced a new product and a new strategy for their recently acquired DaVinci line of products. It’s really not much of a line at all anymore as it’s just Resolve and Revival. And it’s big, big news for Resolve.

And they are made in the U.S.A. an American company (but made abroad)
I have heard of Flanders Scientific monitors for a while but I had not ever seen one. I stopped by their NAB booth and shot a couple of quick RealTime iPhone videos highlighting one of their 17 inch units and their 7 inch unit.

It indexes your media, word by word
Above is a short iPhone-originated RealTime video of a new Final Cut Pro companion application called get, from AV3 software.
The application runs alongside FCP and indexes all your media on a particular hard drive or specified folder by listening to the audio and then allowing the editor to search for terms in the get application interface. There you can preview, scrub around media and jump to each search result. Questionable name aside (and is it: Get, get or ‘get’ ?) the product is very cool.

A refined interface is the biggest highlight
I’ve written about Imagineer System’s mocha product a time or two as it’s an incredibly powerful motion tracker and rotoscoping tool that I’ve been able to use in a number of editing jobs for somewhat practical applications and not necessarily “vfx” kind of work. Version 2 of mocha has shipped for this NAB.
