New EDIUS Keying Tutorials

PVC News Staff | 11/29

Tutorials Designed to Help Both Experts and Enthusiasts

Today’s NLEs need to be more than just editors. As image acquisition and camera technology advance, there is an increasing need for efficient and powerful post-production tools that not only meet technical requirements, but also allow us to work creatively. Matthew Scott is a DP, Editor and Colorist based in Melbourne, Australia, who has been working with Grass Valley to create free online educational resources, designed for both enthusiasts and professionals alike.

“EDIUS is my NLE of choice because it’s the only one that lets me work in real time, and that means my creativity is never interrupted. EDIUS allows me to edit, grade and create moving images all at full resolution, without having to render,” says Matthew.

Matthew’s new series of online tutorials are now available (see below), looking at EDIUS’ transparency, keying and compositing modes. “Understanding transparency really opens up a whole new world of creative choices. I hope everyone who enjoyed the color grading tutorials finds this new series just as instructive” adds Matthew.

Great to see the EDIUS NLE finally becoming more than just an editor. Keep it up.
