Redrock Micro Sees Bright Future in Upgrade for M2 Cinema Lens Adapter

cinescreen II with cineLux™ dramatically improves light performance for award-winning M2 cinema lens adapter

September 25, 2008 Dallas, TX – Redrock Micro, the leading provider of cinema accessories for digital filmmakers, today introduced the cinescreen II upgrade with cineLux for the M2 cinema lens adapter. This upgrade delivers significant improvements in light transmission, contrast, and sharpness for the hugely popular Redrock M2.

The cinescreen II delivers twice the light transmission of the current M2 cinescreen. Screens are also referred to as “ground glass” or “imaging element” and are one of the central components of 35mm lens adapters. cineLux™ technology is at the heart of this improved screen, and has been in development for 2 years at Redrock.  cineLux is a proprietary process designed to deliver superior light transmission, sharpness, and contrast, while maintaining the legendary Redrock “film look” bokeh.

“With the cinescreen II, we feel we have the best screen (ground glass) of any 35mm adapter in the market today,” said James Hurd, Chief Revolutionary for Redrock Micro. “As you look at all the performance factors including light loss, falloff, linear response, and bokeh rendition, the cinescreen II stands alone.”

In addition to greatly improved light transmission, the cinescreen II also delivers outstanding performance in the important aspects of light falloff, bokeh rendition, and stable performance when stopping down.  Unlike other solutions whose light transmission and falloff deteriorates as you stop down, the cinescreen II performance continues to be top notch.

“This is a no-compromise screen that gives the M2 best-in-class capabilities,” added Mr. Hurd.  “The cinescreen II is the first in a number of planned enhancements to the M2 platform that gives Redrock customers a cost-effective path to continuing advancements.”

The cineScreen II upgrade will be available in quantity starting October 1st. Upgrade price is $125, a 50% savings off the list price of $250. The upgrade kit is designed to be user installable. Third party installation services are also available for customers who prefer a turnkey service.
