Creative Suite 4 updates on Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
dhelmly aka DavTechTable | 06/15
The 4.1 updater for Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder are fairly critical updates for the CS4 user. If you are using Adobe CS4 Production Premium, After Effects also has a new updater, 9.02. To see some of the major changes in these updates for Premiere Pro review the datasheet. For After Effects, check out the release notes. I’ve also created a “What’s new in Premiere 4.1” video to get you up to speed.

For RED camera users, both Premiere Pro 4.1 and After Effects have new workflows for RED R3D files. I do a quick run through of the new features on the new RED workflow in the 4.1 video above but here is a completely new Adobe RED video, which walks you through the new workflow in detail.

The update is great! Thanks for the great video tutorial. Any idea on when the AVC-I support showed at NAB will be released for PPro?

Eric,
We are still testing AVC-Intra and I’m working with it daily. My hope is to get it posted to labs.adobe.com sometime this summer. I have several other things I’d like to see up there as well. I’ll make sure we post here when it’s available for you guys to test drive.
The basic issue is getting enough people to give it a good run - much like we did the RED plug-in. So far, the AVC-Intra experience has been solid for me. Stay tuned….......

Thanks for the info. As someone very close to buying an AVC-I camera (I’m shooting tests this week), I eagerly await the native support. As well as the “several other things” you mention (FCP export hopefully!).
