Steve Jobs’ open letter regarding Flash

Allan Tépper | 04/29

I thank ProVideo Coalition reader WSmith for pointing out to me that Steve Jobs has published his open letter regarding Adobe’s Flash. WSmith wrote his comment in my article called Tépper is glad that the iPad doesn’t support Flash. I am glad to know that WSmith saw that article, and at this point, I don’t know whether Steve Jobs did too. Ahead you’ll find a link to Steve Jobs’ open letter, and to my article.

The letter itself is apparently 1,700 words and is posted on Apple’s site.

I now realize that Allan has linked to Job’s actual letter above. I only saw highlights of the letter on ZDNET.com and that’s what I called Allan’s attention to.

Allan,

It didn’t take long for Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen to offer a rebuttal to the Wall Street Journal. See it here, including video of the interview.

As of 10:08 am, the stocks of both Apple and Adobe are both down by approximately the same amount: 2+ dollars.

The public (or at least the brokerage analysts) are undecided.
