Shooting ENG-style with a DSLR? Mostly harmless.
Here we are a week after NAB, and I find that I shot 177 stills and 27 minutes of video over two days on a Canon 5D MkII (it may not sound like a lot, but I grew up on pricey film, and I’m not one of those mash-the-button-down-and-hope-for-the-best photogs. Loupes, lenses, and lights, oh my!
If one theme of NAB was 3D, the other was video-capable DSLRs. The danged things were everywhere; I saw more people shooting video with DSLRs (myself included) than with anything else.
There was plenty of new DSLR gear to look at, too: the usual suspects (Zacuto, Cinevate, Redrock Micro) has lots of mounting kits, rod systems, and support accessories, and they were joined by the likes of Ikan.

Just a few of the cameras shown at NAB 2010.
In between the DSLRs and the 3D rigs, there were a few “traditional” broadcast cameras (like the Ikegami V10 shown above), small-format camcorders, and digital cinema cameras to be seen. Here are some of them.
