Quad-Def, Here We Come?

This article from TV Technology mentions (in the lower grafs) research done by Samsung on creating salable quad-definition - that is, 2160p - sets for home users.  Sweet Mother Of Mercy, can’t we just settle?  Apparently not, at least not when there are early-adopters pockets to pick.

Don’t freak out! I’m still using a 233MMX laptop computer for stuff I don’t need a faster one for, like internet and IM, even audio recording. It’s not obsolete if it still does the job you need it for.

So if you’re 10 feet away from it, it would have to be at least 150 inches diagonal in order for the benefit of that resolution to be seen by someone with 20/20 vision (based on this chart: http://www.hdforindies.com/2006/12/when-does-1080p-make-difference.html).
