Maybe They Should Have Called The Cops First

Adventures in Indie Filmmaking

It’s said that the best lessons are the hardest learned, and this lesson is a doozy.

It seems that some indie filmmakers were shooting a robbery scene in a convenience store in North Andover, Massachusetts, when they got an unexpected dose of real police work.  I sure hope the cameras were still rolling when the actors got slapped into handcuffs.

The lesson, of course, is to notify the local police in advance if you are dramatizing some illegal activity in the possible view of the public.  By the way, many police organizations will bill you for the cost of a call if you are the reason for a false alarm.  So do the legwork and keep the cops happy - that’ll pay off over and over again.
