Creating Motion Graphics
by Chris & Trish Meyer
Refugees from the music and print industries, Chris and Trish Meyer found their future calling when version 1 of After Effects was released in the early 90s. They embraced this powerful new desktop tool and built a business - CyberMotion - creating motion graphics for film and video. Always quick to share what they've learned, Trish and Chris are perhaps best known for their books on Adobe After Effects, including Creating Motion Graphics and After Effects Apprentice. They have written columns and features for numerous magazines, spoke at NAB, BDA, DV Expo, FlashForward, PostProduction World, and MacWorld, teach classes, and hosted the monthly meetings of Motion Graphics Los Angeles for over ten years.
CyberMotion has produced motion graphics for the likes of Miramax, New Line, Focus Pictures, CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, UPN, The Learning Channel, HBO, and PBS, corporate clients ranging from Apple to Xerox, and special venues including a nine-screen CircleVision, NBC's AstroVision sign in Times Square, and the four-block-long Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas. The bolster their design sensibility with an understanding of the numerous technical issues involved with the production of film, video, and web graphics.
