Clint Milby
When Clint's father gave him a video camera as a graduation present, he immediately started producing short films, something he still does today.
After graduating from Baylor University, Milby moved to Los Angeles working for such industry respected companies as Live Entertainment and The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He worked six years for Warner Bros. where he served as executive assistant to writer/producers and development executives.
After writing several screenplays and producing one award winning short film, Clint broadened his writing and producing talents to include marketing and promotion for ikan corp. There he conceptualized and produced print insertions and videos, as well as creating a short film contest and launching an entire social media campaign.
In 2009, Milby became fascinated with HDSLRs and got a 7D of his own to join the revolution. Beyond making several shorts and commercials using his 7D, he became a careful student of how to get the best video possible from these remarkable cameras. In 2010, Clint started a news website, HDSLRShooter.com and has extended this blog to Pro Video Coalition.

If there is a war between manufacturers for the greatest share of the HDSLR market, then Sony is launching a shock and awe campaign with no end in sight. Their latest assault, the second in a month, is the announcement of two new DSLRs, the α55 and α33. These two cameras seem to aggressively target the Canon T2i and 7D head on.

Rodney Charters says “Park the Camera!”
I recently had an opportunity to speak with Rodney Charters, DP for the FOX television series 24 about the HDSLR revolution, and some of his upcoming seminars. His presentations begin with some compelling behind the scenes footage and some deleted scenes from 24. “I’ll also be talking about my own 35 year exploration of photography and provide some basic information about how to take a camera you buy in the store and make a finished video suitable for presentation.”

2 Day Workshop Promises To Rival Any Film School
Of all the industry professionals shooting with HDSLRs, Shane Hurlbut clearly stands out as one of Hollywood’s most innovative and inspiring cinematographers. In my soon to be published interview, Shane shares in depth about the rise of his career and how the HDSLR has changed not only his work but the entire industry. Particularly interesting is his upcoming HDSLR Bootcamp. This will not be just some seminar where you sit with a hundred other people in some auditorium. If you are one of the fortunate few able to attend this intensive workshop, plan on getting your hands dirty!

The NEX-VG10 makes a giant leap forward…but lacks a few things as well.
Being hailed as the new sheriff in town with aspirations to kick HDSLRs out of the video market, the Sony NEX-VG10 with its interchangeable lenses and larger chip may just herald the end of professional applications of DSLR video. However, a closer examination seems to indicate it may still lack some of the key features so endearing to those of us who shoot with HDSLRs. So before you go running to ebay or your local pawnshop with your HDSLR you might want to consider the NEX-VG10’s limitations.
