NAB 2011:  GoPro Rides The 3D Wave

Clint Milby | 04/26

New 3D Rig Comes Complete with Hardware and Software Solution

When I caught up with GoPro, their booth was more like one of the casinos rather than a trade show booth. There was a multitude of screens, a GoPro van and even a race car.

So with race car in booth, GoPro had a fantastic array of products, a majority of which include cameras and rigs to shoot while surfing, snowboarding, and, you guessed it, race car driving.

It’s one of their newer additions however that caught our eye: the 3D Hero System. Utilizing two GoPro cameras, their new rig allows for a super compact, super affordable way to shoot 3D, and it has an impressive software solution too.

Check out my interview with GoPro’s Rick Loughery, as he kicks the DL on the 3D Hero System, their new LCD monitor and talks about why GoPro Cameras have been a hit with so many different shooters.
