Redrock Micro Unveils Redrock|ops HDSLR Support

Clint Milby | 09/02

Much More Than Meets The Eye…

One of the highlights of attending Hurlbut Visuals HDSLR Bootcamp was getting a sneak peek at some new and exciting camera support gear by the sponsors.  One such treat was Redrock Micro’s new line of camera support gear, Redrock|ops.

More than just a new paint job, Redrock took their most popular configurations, and using a state of the art anodizing type chemical process, they created a digi-camo finish that is non-reflective, tough, weather resistant and stylish. Flat black handles and accents complete the look and make the rigs less detectable where stealth is required.

Brian Valente, along with military escort, presented the very first Redrock|ops rig personally to Shane Hurlbut himself in recognition for all of the work he’s done recently with the Navy Seals and the US Marine Corps.

According to James Hurd, Chief Revolutionary at Redrock, “Redrock|ops was developed in response to the growing interest of filmmakers to personalize their equipment. In addition to the obvious use for camouflage and outdoors shooting, filmmakers want to infuse a sense of style to their own equipment. The response has already been overwhelmingly positive.”

Currently the Redrock Micro Running Man, Man Cam, microMatteBox Deluxe Bundle and the DSLR Field Cinema Deluxe Bundle V2 are available as part of the Redrock|ops series.

If you were one of the fortunate few at the HDSLR Bootcamp, you had a shot at walking away with these Redrock|ops rigs as Valente graciously raffled off a Man Cam dual handle rail system.  For the rest of us who want them, Redrock|ops are currently available directly from Redrock Micro’s online store and are priced at a slight premium over standard versions of the rigs. Due to the already high demand and limited edition, Redrock|ops rigs have a delivery lead time. More details and ordering can be found at Redrockmicro.com/ops

NAB 2012: Trucolor Ohm Space Light

Bruce A Johnson | 04/20

400 watts of LED replaces a 6K?  Sounds good to me.

Next time you need to flood a room with soft light - in whatever color temperature - you should give the Ohm a look.
