Video and Nikon support coming Real Soon Now

Over at ProPhotoCoalition I’ve got a post up about a hot new app coming for the iPhone/iTouch that enables you to remotely control Canon DSLR cameras over wifi. It has some limitations, not the least of which is the requirement that the camera be connected to a laptop computer. However, the possibilities are tantalizing. Read on…

The app can already stream Live View from cameras equipped as such, and the developer has noted they will enable Video record start/stop in a later version (for cameras like the 5D MKII). So, you ask…“Why do I care about this app if it doesn’t support video yet?” I’m glad you asked, grasshopper. When the app is approved, they will be offering it at half off the normal $19.99 price for an introductory period. Buy it now at a discount, and reap the benefits when the update comes out in the future. Because you are going to need something to remotely control that Canon 5D MKII purchase you’ve been eyeballing.
