FreshDV Reviews Matte Box Systems

Matt Jeppsen | 11/06- 11:15 AM

We take a detailed look at 5 popular matte box systems

A quick update on the Petroff review: users have alerted us that in our video it appears that the rail riser is mounted backwards. Apparently if you remove the riser and flip it around, it will not contact the rod support in it's lowest config. Unfortunately, this is how our unit arrived, and we weren't aware of that misconfiguration. Finally, Petroff apparently also offers thumb screws as an alternative to allen screws, so that's an option to consider if you are looking to purchase this model. The matte box bag solution referenced in the Chrosziel video can be seen here. You may also be interested in our accompanying review of popular follow focus systems.
