That was fantastic. If you play the little Director section, you can see the guy to our right swinging a little, making it clear that these are actors/and or mannequins…

That is cool. I’m still not sold on this ambilight tech though. Sure we have something similar in our grading suite but it doesn’t change colors .... it has always seemed more distracting to me when I’m watching one of these TVs.

That piece is amazing, gimickry of the 21:9 display aside.

After clicking some of the “bonus features” it seems it was steadycam with subtle movements stabilized and camera match-move tracking for the extra elements.

I’m also not sold on Ambilight. It was just really distracting.

The director was a little cheesy, but the rest of the site was beautiful.

I actually have a pretty solid idea of how they did this, I’ve worked on a very similar project before.  only we had a clearly smaller budget.

Fundamental changes to the 3D tracking process on the way? Stay tuned…

One normally doesn’t put much stock in press releases, but sometimes you can read between the lines and see some substance behind the hype. At SIGGRAPH next week in Los Angeles, anyone involved in the process of combining 3D and live action footage will want to check out the latest upcoming release from Pixel Farm, makers of PF Track.

What can we expect? Here’s what can be gleaned at this stage:

Adobe Premiere Pro 3D Stereoscopic Realtime Editing
dhelmly aka DavTechTable | 07/14

In this 7 part series, Dave Helmly walks you through a complete 3D Stereo workflow with Premiere Pro CS5.

I’ve created a start-to-finish workflow on how you can create a 3D stereoscopic workflow in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 using complementary tools that are on the market today. It’s a must see for anyone getting started with 3D Stereo. This seven-part series covers Active, Passive and Anaglyph viewing as well how to play your videos on a consumer 3D TV. It’s a ton of information so I broke up the series into bite-sized pieces.…
