Expression Shorts - Auto Center A Layer Between Two Moving Layers

David Torno | 03/18- 03:58 PM

Have a layer center itself at the midpoint between two other moving layers

image

Ever have the need to have a layer stay exactly at the midpoint between two other moving layers? Sometimes your layers have to move erratically, or even linear, but you just want your midpoint layer to just stay in the middle without doing math and hand keyframing it the whole way. Well this expression should help you out. Includes a 2D and 3D layer explanation.

Expression Shorts - Attach 2D Layer To A 3D Layer

David Torno | 03/11- 08:35 PM

Attach a 2D layer to a 3D layer, even while it’s moving.

image

This a fun useful expression that allows you to take any 2D layer in your timeline and have it attach to a moving 3D layer. Ideal for something like 2D flat text that follows a 3D tracked point in a scene.

LIGHTING: Advanced Cucoloris Use Illustrated by a Solar Eclipse

Art Adams | 05/24- 11:24 AM

Q: What happens when you stack several pattern-making devices in front of a light? A: Extreme lighting goodness. Learn why here…

I love stacking cucolorii (plural of “cucoloris”) and I thought it was time to write an article about how this technique works and why I like it so much. I was a bit stretched for ideas that would illustrate this concept… and then an eclipse happened. Why that made a difference is a very interesting story…
