While it’s very early to be certain, it looks as though Red will bring another new HD camera to start lusting, er, saving for. You can expect prototypes of the new pocketable or “pocket professional camera” as Jim Jannard CEO calls it. So it’s not supposed to be a competitor to Red One. That’s all we know at this point. More soon…

Is this the rumored Apple sub-notebook? Will this new notebook, which is likely due this month at MacWorld SF, be able to handle video? Even if it does handle video (firewire, fast hard drive, etc), will pros want to use it on a small screen.
I have a MacBook and a 17” MacBook Pro and I don’t really like editing on the 13” MacBook. The screen is just too small for me. Yes, it works great on a plane, but I’d still rather lug around the 17” to have the screen real estate. However, you’ll likely find me stepping up to the Apple store to snag one of these babies as soon as it’s available. Why? Um, er, for the business side of my business, not necessarily the video editing side. Yeah, that’s my story…

If you were lucky enough to catch a very exciting game this weekend, you were also able to catch a piece of history in the making. No, I’m not talking about the Patriots going 16/0 (particularly since I am a Giants fan!), I’m referring instead to the simulcast across networks with CBS and NBC, and the NFL Network carrying the game in HD.
The last time that happened, it was Super Bowl number one in 1967! In case you’ve been paying attention, NFL carriage has been a thing of criticism with reference to Time Warner and Comcast specifically. Well, to this football fan, this game was a thing of beauty…except the final score that is.
