Nearly 180 Visual Effects Filters for Linux-based Autodesk Systems

Marlborough MA – April 20, 2009 – Boris FX, the leading developer of integrated effects technology for video and film, today announced Boris Continuum Complete 6 Sparks for Autodesk Effects and Finishing Systems (BCC 6 Sparks). Based on the Autodesk Sparks plug-in architecture, BCC 6 Sparks brings nearly 180 filters to Autodesk Smoke, Autodesk Inferno, Autodesk Flame, and Autodesk Flint systems. Blackmagic Design Announces Linux Support for DeckLink, Multibridge and Intensity

Blackmagic Design Inc. today announced Linux support for DeckLink, Intensity and Multibridge products. Support includes the software driver, Media Express 2.0 and an SDK for developers. Linux support now means any DeckLink, Intensity and Multibridge product from Blackmagic Design can be plugged into computers running Mac OS X, Windows and Linux, and moved between platforms as customers choose.

Clean, simple 3D animation sells a rolling stop

Before you get all engulfed in the new product announcements sure to flow out of the NAB frenzy next week, take a look at a beautifully executed animation in support of what appears to be an incredibly sensible law that only one state has passed in almost 30 years - allowing bikes to come to a rolling stop. Made by Spencer Boomhower and found on the Bike Portland site, it’s really worth checking out.
