Digital Film Tools Releases EZ Mask v2

PVC News Staff | 11/30- 06:52 PM

Digital Film Tools releases EZ Mask v2 for Adobe Photoshop—a simple and fast interactive image masking tool.

EZ Mask is an easy to use interactive image masking tool capable of extracting almost any object in an image—even if you are dealing with fine hair detail, smoke, or reflections. This extraction process creates what is known as a mask—essentially a black and white cutout. White mask areas are extracted, black areas not, and gray areas in between represent a level of transparency. Once a mask is extracted, the foreground object can be seamlessly composed onto a new background in Adobe Photoshop as well as apply filter and image corrections only within the area defined by the mask. All this is made possible without the aid of blue or green screen photography.

Great Links to Cool VFX and Motion Graphics Served Fresh

Topher Welsh at the videohive blog writes exactly how I feel about Twitter:

“Personally I think that the whole “updating your status” part of Twitter is ridiculous.  There, I said it.  I don’t care what you are eating for dinner, or if someone is being annoying in the movie theatre.  Keep it to yourself.  The thing that keeps me addicted to Twitter is the people that tweet the cool stuff:  The behind the scenes of Terminator Salvation, The VFX breakdown of Fast and Furious 4, the new tutorial that Aharon Rabinowitz just put onto Red Giant TV.  Those are the reasons why I use Twitter, and these are the people that you should be following.”

See his short list of folks to follow here. Be sure to scroll down to the comments section for a few more folks to follow.
