Blackmagic Design Announces DeckLink Studio

MacWorld 2009, San Francisco, CA, USA - January 7, 2009 - Blackmagic Design Inc.
today announced DeckLink Studio, a new model capture card specifically designed
as a replacement for standard definition cards, but with increased analog connectivity
for wide compatibility with older analog equipment as well as SD and HD-SDI for
the latest digital equipment. DeckLink Studio replaces the entire Blackmagic
Design standard definition product line while also adding HD support, at much
lower cost.

SECAUCUS, NJ (January 7, 2009) — Los Angeles-based filmmaker Sam Wasserman chose Panasonic’s AJ-HPX3000 native 1080p one-piece P2 HD camcorder to shoot his first feature, The Journal, a semi-autobiographical short that recounts the story of a young man seeking the courage to read the diary of his long-deceased mother. Director of Photography Graham Futerfas shot the project, which has been widely submitted on the festival circuit.

Leading sports broadcaster chooses Digital Hybrid Wireless™ technology

Toronto, Ontario, Canada – January 2009… When the time came to go live at their new, multi-million dollar studio, the technical operations staff at Score Media Inc. were determined to have the best possible wireless systems in place to ensure flawless performance and superior sound for their various shows. The specialty sports television service, which is available in 6.4 million homes throughout Canada, looked at a lot of different systems, but ultimately, they selected Lectrosonics.

The Score airs a variety of sports programs, including Court Surfing, which features NBA highlights, and their flagship sports news program, The Score Tonight. Regardless of the program, Score TV uses an extensive collection of Lectrosonics equipment.

conversion solutions, recently released version 6.0.2 software for the AJA
Io HD, KONA 3 and KONA LHe products. With version 6.0.2, AJA has added
support for the extraction of 23.98 fps video from a 1080i 29.97 fps HD-SDI
signal. It is important to note that not all models of camcorders with
1080i 29.97 HD-SDI output provide the flagged frame data needed for the
proper operation of this feature.
