Eyeheight introduces LI-2DM dual-channel multi-definition animating logo-inserter

PVC News Staff | 11/30

Eyeheight’s new LI-2DM multi-rate dual logo-inserter incorporates two completely independent channels, including separate inputs and outputs, enabling mixed-rate operation. Each of the two logo inserters has two independent layers, allowing two logos to be superimposed. Logos can also be animated.

The LI-2DM has an internal memory capacity of approximately one HD full frame or five SD full frames for each logo-inserter. A typical logo occupying 1/8 frame size can be animated across 64 HD frames or 320 SD frames. Logo upload is via Eyeheight’s netLogo PC application. Monitoring and control can be performed within the Eyeheight etherBox chassis using a standard web browser. Alternatively, six LI-2DM dual logo inserters can be incorporated in a 1 U FB-9E chassis, giving a density of 12 logo-inserter channels per rack unit. Power consumption in an FB-9E configuration is less than 50 W with six LI-1DM installed. The FB-9E can optionally be controlled by an FP-9 front panel or FP-10 desk-mounting panel.

Like all Eyeheight multi-definition products, the LI-2DM is fully compatible with 1080 line standards (23.98psf/24psf/23.98p/24p/25p/50i/29.97p/30p/59.94i/60i), as well as 720p (23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60), 625 and 525.

Demonstrated at IBC2009, the Eyeheight LI-2DM is now in production.

A globally-active innovator in broadcast-quality video and audio engineering, Eyeheight designs and manufactures a wide range of SDI/HD-SDI equipment for use in programme-origination, quality assurance, post-production, master-control and associated areas. These include aspect-ratio converters, colour correctors, embedded-audio shufflers, keyers, legalisers, logo inserters, master control switchers, monitoring interfaces, safe-area generators and vision mixers. Eyeheight products centre on a modular platform with Ethernet control and monitoring for easy connection to other devices and to external automation.

Attached 300 DPI JPEG image shows a schematic of the Eyeheight LI-2DM dual-channel multi-definition animating logo inserter.
