Gefen Offers One to Many Wireless Transmission

PVC News Staff | 05/15

The GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 5Ghz Extender Delivers Any Hi-Def Source to One or More Displays with No Cables Required, Perfect for Both Residential and Commercial Installations

Connectivity solutions provider Gefen today announced that its GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 5Ghz Extender is shipping. The product comes in two modes: broadcast and unicast. In unicast mode, it delivers a point-to-point wireless transmission that is fully HDCP compliant up to 100 feet (30m) in distance. In broadcast mode, the GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 5Ghz Extender delivers several identical HDTV signals without HDCP compliance. In this mode, individual receivers are connected to each display or projector to transmit the hi-def video at the same distance.

The sender/receiver system allows a wireless transmission of high definition video (1080p/30fps) with audio (5.1 digital and L/R analog) using 5Ghz technology by Amimon.

“A Blu-ray player, set-top box, or gaming device that is HDCP compliant can be delivered to one display or projector in the home,” explained Hagai Gefen, president and CEO of Gefen Inc. “For digital signage purposes, one hi-def source can be sent to multiple displays, making it best suited for larger venues with a greater span than previous wireless solutions currently on the market.”

With no line-of-sight required and the ability to pass through walls, the GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 5Ghz Extender offers a robust method of extension for long-distance applications without running cables. Invisible 5Ghz radio waves convey hi-def video bundled with digital audio in the HDMI format and analog L/R audio, streamlining installations with an attractive, high performance alternative to cabled extension systems.

Sender and receiver units come with handy stands that provide ideal setting for the units. Both units are powered to drive the wireless connection up to 100 feet in distance.
