B&H Photo Video Pro Audio, a major retailer of professional audio and video equipment based in New York City, has added the Grass Valley™ T2™ high-definition Intelligent Digital Disk Recorder (iDDR) to The Studio - B&H, its new hands-on demonstration suite designed exclusively for production professionals.

The Studio - B&H, a new division of B&H Photo Video Pro Audio, is dedicated to offering broadcast, digital cinema and post-production professionals a complete range of products and services.  At its showroom, which contains a fully functional production and post-production facility located in midtown Manhattan (adjacent to the company’s renown Superstore), customers have the opportunity to test and compare equipment, as well as participate in product demonstrations and training opportunities that span the entire production process, from acquisition to delivery.

“We’re always looking to equip our showroom with solutions that bring value and unique functionality to the production process,” said Kevin Reagan, General Manager of The Studio@B&H. “The Grass Valley T2 iDDR is an exciting playout and record device that many professionals will benefit from using and we’re happy to include it in our showroom as a component of the various HD workflows that we now have on display in our facility. We regularly have representatives from the broadcast industry as well as production and post-production professionals who come in to our facility to test out the latest technologies. That’s always been our strategy here at B&H and now we’re taking it to the next level with The Studio showroom.”

“B&H Photo Video Pro Audio has successfully carried many of our products in the past and we’re pleased to be included in The Studio showroom, where many of the industry’s best professional production technologies are on display and fully operational,” said Jeff Rosica, Senior Vice President of Grass Valley. “The new Grass Valley T2 iDDR has been embraced by a wide variety of customers around the world and now New York area professionals can get up close and personal with it whenever they want.”

Since November 2009 hundreds T2 iDDR units have been sold worldwide, to a variety of customers looking to take advantage of the system’s file-based architecture and multiple features for recording, organizing and distributing clips. This includes production companies, colleges, government agencies, houses of worship, events and staging companies, corporate AV centers, broadcast display support, community television (CATV) operations, and regional sports companies.

The T2 iDDR is available for sale on the B&H website at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/659931-REG/Grass_Valley_600469_T2_iDDR_Intelligent_Digital.html/.

About the Grass Valley T2 iDDR

The front-panel transport controls on the T2 are designed to look and feel very much like those of traditional VTRs.  It offers two HD or SD playout channels for independent editing and previewing, or for delivering synced content to two different display systems simultaneously.

Featuring full HD support (1080p24, 1080i50/60, and 720p50/60) and extensive rear-panel audio/video connectivity, the T2 iDDR can accept files from external storage via USB 2.0, FireWire, an optional 2.5-inch HDD/SDD bay, or by data transfer over a standard gigabit Ethernet network. The T2 DDR accepts media from other applications, including Canopus HQ, HQAVI, MPEG-2, QuickTime1 and Windows Media HD files. It also includes a built-in LCD front panel and clear, user-friendly 7-inch touchscreen—the biggest in the industry for this class of device. A software application suite allows management and selection of media clips, clip editing and trimming, playlist creation, and playout.

The T2 iDDR can be controlled by the Grass Valley Indigo A/V Mixer—which combines features normally found in video production switchers, presentation mixers, and audio mixers—to create a powerful presentation system.
