PVC News Staff | 11/02

RØDE Microphones is proud to announce this holiday season’s greatest performance package for professional and enthusiast videographers - A RØDE Blimp for just one Australian dollar with the purchase of the RØDE NTG-3 high performance shotgun microphone.

Both the RØDE NTG-3 and Blimp have received continual praise from both the professional and enthusiast communities since their release last year, providing a unique combination of accessibility and market leading performance.

This November and December their combination is unbeatable, as any user who purchases an NTG-3 from a participating dealer can go to rodemic.com/onedollarblimp and claim a RØDE Blimp for just AUD$1.

The NTG-3 is RØDE’s premier shotgun microphone. Its RF bias technology makes it almost entirely resistant to moisture, making it the only option for recording in extreme environments. Incredibly low handling noise, light weight and a generous pick-up pattern ensure that the NTG-3 is ready to run-and-gun on even the most demanding shoot locations.

The RØDE Blimp has been the recipient of numerous international product design awards recently. Its sleek design and premier functionality providing users with a great all-purpose shock mount and wind protection system. Its design and construction are second to none, providing RØDE the confidence to offer a full ten year warranty* on all RØDE Blimps.

“We’re incredibly excited with how the international community has taken to both the NTG-3 and Blimp since their respective launches last year.” commented Damien Wilson, RØDE’s Global Sales and Marketing Director. “Finally there is a complete high-performance quality recording solution that can go anywhere, completely backed by a ten year manufacturer warranty. Now the $1 Blimp deal makes this package the must-have holiday buy for professionals and enthusiasts alike”

Adobe teases Prelude at the San Francisco Supermeet, FCPUG changes its name

Scott Simmons | 01/28

The Adobe sneak looks intriguing. Makes me excited for CS6.

From the looks of Twitter last night there were a couple of surprises at the Friday evening’s San Francisco Supermeet. First bit of news I saw was that Final Cut Pro User Group (FCPUG) has decided to drop the Final Cut Pro designation from their name to become the Creative Pro User Group. Second was a sneak peek from Adobe about a new application called Prelude.

The FCP X update? It matters….is now the time to jump on board?

More Info About the Final Cut X Update(Sponsored by FMC)

FCP X has caused quite a controversy in the video community; between massive changes in software design and a struggle for professional workflows, the new version (while amazing) has been a rocky release for Apple.  This new update starts to address some of the criticisms from professionals.

Why Apple’s update should matter for you:

The update for FCPX shows one thing very clearly: Apple is listening. …
