Community TV for On-Air and On-Line Broadcast Integration of User Submitted Content

Community TV enables viewers and social communities to manage broadcast content on-air and online. Using web 2.0 applications, never.no has created TV and web broadcast applications especially for the complete high-quality broadcast integration of user submitted content. Authorized participants are invited to upload their own broadcast-quality content directly through the uploading service. Once the content is online, moderators or the participant can edit and schedule according to pre-set rules. When complete, the material is prepared and broadcast according to the user’s specified schedule. In addition to being played on air, it is simultaneously circulated to the online community, where it can be viewed, rated, and commented on.

Community TV allows users to revamp their broadcast in ways only thought possible on the web. These include:

• creating audience identity and generating station loyalty

• ensuring participants handle most of the workload, while allowing the site owner to remain in complete control

• supplying a turnkey solution for online community TV sites, while integrating with existing larger social networks such as YouTube

• providing an end-to-end solution from ingest to automation and playout on TV, IPTV, web, and VOD

In addition to the enterprise version, the same core functionality is also available through Software as a Service (SaaS). The platform is ideal for metropolitan area cable networks as well as community, campus, and public access TV channels.

Auto Dialogue System Mobile Marketing and Dialogue Framework

Auto Dialogue System (ADS) is the ideal application suite for mobile, e-mail, and IM gateways or middleware systems. It extends the capabilities of the gateway and acts as a dialogue based front-end to existing solutions. ADS communicates one-to-one with an unlimited number of users/devices, while emulating natural language and dialogue logic. Its java plug-in architecture makes integration with third-party systems a breeze.

With ADS users can create and deploy dialogue-based communication services including user registration, quiz games, private chat or chatrooms, social networking services, dating, and lifestyle coaching or product ordering services. ADS also supports scheduled push for gateway initiated dialogue. The resulting data can be fed into CRM and ordering systems, or content management systems for iTV.

Templates are included to help the user get started with chat, mms, and poll services.

Interactivity Desk Editorial Control Tool for User-Generated Content

Interactivity Desk (ID) is the software tool for on-air and off-air editorial control of interactive and participation formats in all media. ID reads various forms of viewer contribution data, including text, images, audio, and video, and lets an editor moderate, edit, and sort the data before submission to the broadcast systems, blogs, Internet pages, or STB or IPTV middleware. ID can feed data to various systems in parallel, for true multicast participation TV and Internet integration. ID contains a built-in scheduler, which schedules the running of quiz, polls, vote, games etc., without user interaction.

ID also provides basic broadcast control, thus allowing editors and moderators to trigger CG sequences, tickers, scrolls, bugs, or segments during direct or near-direct broadcasting. Numerous available add-on modules exist, for added functionality. never. no offers turn-key integration with Vizrt, RTX, Flash, Silverlight, and blog platforms. An open XML standard, easily adopted by other third party systems is also available.

Dynamic Content Scheduler Action Generator for Interactive and Participation TV for CGs

Dynamic Content Scheduler (DCS) is a Windows GUI application that gives the user an intuitive and powerful interface for configuring, deploying, and scheduling interactive and automated TV graphics, and creates complex event-based macros for the CG. The objective of the software is to position itself between the interactive TV or participation TV editorial systems and the CG, synchronizing and coordinating a variety of dynamic content.

DCS interacts with the queues from the interactivity desk, the CG, local automation systems, video servers, still-stores, logo inserters, ad insertion systems, etc. It controls the way the queues are entered into the graphical templates and are played out on screen, or generates actions interpreted by the CG or the other systems when required. In addition, DCS prevents conflicts between on-screen elements in space and time, in correlation with both dynamic and scheduled events.

DCS is available for Vizrt, Harris RTX, Adobe® Flash®, and Microsoft® Silverlight™.

Intelligence Data Warehouse, Reports and Analytics System for ADS and ID

Intelligence is a data management tool for communication driven services. Services designed in ADS or for ID, services for mobile marketing, participation TV, or social networking can all use Intelligence as their main data visualization tool.

The product’s core is based on never.no’s extensive knowledge of mobile, media, and broadcast systems, but with a Microsoft® Reporting Services front-end for familiarity and ease-of-use by non-technical personnel. Data is acquired by the suite from all the underlying applications and stored in a local database. Through the front end, users can author new reports, or manage existing reports and define event triggers for delivery. Intelligence also provides scheduled reports for accounting, CRM, or usage analysis. The reports are created at predefined intervals, and provided as textual and graphical data in HTML, Excel®, or PDF format. The user may also use the HTML interface to generate and manipulate reports in real time, with clickable drill-down capabilities.
