NOISE INDUSTRIES RELEASES FREE PAN AND ZOOM PHOTO ANIMATION PLUG-IN FOR FINAL CUT PRO, MOTION AND AFTER EFFECTS

Flexible parameters of new Pan and Zoom 2 freebie enable the effortless creation of stunning photo animations inside both Apple and Adobe host applications

Noise Industries, developer of visual effects tools for the postproduction and broadcast markets, announced that it has released an update to its popular freebie generator plug-in, Pan and Zoom. The intuitive controls of the new Pan and Zoom 2 plug-in enables users to easily create stunning Pan and Zoom effects, a photo animation style made popular by cinematographer Ken Burns, without a single keyframe. The new release also boasts motion blur to generate the best-looking animations at any frame rate, and a bonus transition, which allows editors to use the same photo animation techniques to move between two clips. Pan and Zoom 2 is free and supports the latest versions of Apple® Final Cut Pro®, Final Cut Express®, Motion and After Effects®.

“We were eager to develop an update to Pan and Zoom after the success of the first release,” said Niclas Bahn, director of business development, Noise Industries. “The ease-of-use and flexibility helped evolve this freebie plug-in into a favorite among the FxFactory community. We are confident our users will enjoy the new update.”

What’s New With Pan and Zoom 2

  • Compatibility: Works with image files in the most popular formats, including:

JPEG, PNG, PSD, and any media imported to projects and clips

  • Set-up and Manageability: Animation remains in sync with clip lengths,

presenting the ability to freely resize your clips

  • Motion Blur: allows for easy configuration via a single parameter, generating

stunning animations at any frame rate

  • Flexibility: Animation can also be controlled manually by keyframing parameters

Adobe teases Prelude at the San Francisco Supermeet, FCPUG changes its name

Scott Simmons | 01/28

The Adobe sneak looks intriguing. Makes me excited for CS6.

From the looks of Twitter last night there were a couple of surprises at the Friday evening’s San Francisco Supermeet. First bit of news I saw was that Final Cut Pro User Group (FCPUG) has decided to drop the Final Cut Pro designation from their name to become the Creative Pro User Group. Second was a sneak peek from Adobe about a new application called Prelude.
