On2’s products address demand for rich video experience

Hong Kong, June 12th, 2008 - On2 Technologies, Inc. (AMEX: ONT), a global leader in video compression technologies, will be showcasing its broad portfolio on Booth 3G, 403 at this year’s CommunicAsia exhibition in Singapore between 17th and 20th June. On2’s involvement in CommunicAsia and recent appointment of John Fargis, to Vice President, Asia Pacific Sales, along with the opening of its Hong Kong office, all signal the company’s commitment to strengthen its presence in the region.

“CommunicAsia is an excellent platform for us to demonstrate practically and speak to potential clients in Asia Pacific about our product suite of industry-leading solutions for video compression, encoding and publishing, embedded video and advanced video applications,” commented Fargis.

On2 targets the fast growth markets of VoIP, IPTV, Mobile video/TV, HD Video, Web video (Web 2.0), video gaming, enterprise and education, devices & consumer electronics, digital signage and security and surveillance.

On2 will be demonstrating its core technologies, ranging from low level software and SDKs to system level solutions for major industry formats. Its proprietary video compression TrueMotion® VP6® codecs lead the industry in efficiency, quality and bandwidth utilization and are the de facto Internet standard for web and VoIP video through their inclusion in Adobe´sR FlashR video. On2 TrueMotion technology is licensed by Adobe for Flash Player 8 and 9 and now for Adobe Flash Lite 3 for mobile phones.

The TrueMotion VP7 codec was recognized by the 2006 Frost and Sullivan Innovations Award as the most advanced video compression scheme. The VP7 codec is licensed by Skype 2.0, AOL AIM, Move Networks, Triton, Viewpoint Media Player, and Chinese company Tencent Messenger/QQ among others.

On2’s TrueMobile solution is an end-to-end mobile video system designed to reach the largest number of handsets across the most networks, including 2.5G, Edge, 3G and 4G networks, through efficient compression, streaming and playback using TrueMotion VP7 technology.

The acquisition of HantroTM Products Oy in 2007 enables On2 to deliver best-in-class embedded video solutions. On2´s Hantro 6000 and 7000 series multiformat encoders and decoders are specifically designed for software- and hardware-based mobile implementations, combining high performance and error resilience with low power consumption and CPU load from standard to high definition video for H.263, H.264, MPEG-4, VC-1 and JPEG. 8300-MME Multimedia Application Development Platform is a multimedia engine to enable fast implementation of embedded multimedia applications for devices. Hantro solutions have been licensed by many leading chip and device manufacturers in the Asia Pacific region including: Hisilicon, Spreadtrum, Shanghai Jade, Vimicro, MediaTek and Quanta,

On2’s FlixR Engine 8 is a leading server-side encoding platform for Adobe Flash Player 8 and 9 video used by the majority of leading video web sites, user generated content sites and social networking sites. Flix Pro 8.5 is a popular desktop application for consumers and professionals to create professional quality video for Adobe Flash Player 8 and 9.

“On2 is recognized as a world leader in video compression technologies. Our codecs deliver the highest quality with less data, and enable compelling video in products and services, from mobile devices to web, VoIP, gaming, broadcast and more. Nowhere is the demand for these applications growing as fast as in Asia Pacific, and this is reflected in our presence at CommunicAsia and our strengthened presence in the region,” concluded Fargis.
