Wall Mount 1 to 8 HDMI v1.3 Splitter

PVC News Staff | 07/25

Gefen’s Newest Splitter Supports All HDMI v1.3 Features and Comes in Smaller, Wall Mountable Enclosure

Connectivity solutions provider Gefen today announced the availability of the GefenTV Mini 1:8 Splitter for HDMI v1.3. A much smaller foot print enclosure streamlines installations for easy wiring placement.

“The Mini 1:8 Splitter for HDMI v1.3 marks a departure from the standard rack or desktop design,” said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO, Gefen Inc. “This model is designed to be mounted on any 2x3, 2x4 stud on a back wall. Its small size and secure power allows customers to create clean installs without spending a lot of money.”

The Mini 1:8 Splitter for HDMI v1.3 delivers high definition video and multichannel audio from one blu-ray player, set-top box, PS3 or XBox game console or any device using HDMI connectivity to eight displays and/or projectors at the same time.

Support for HDMI v1.3 features, including lip sync, deep color, Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio, make it ideal for many applications including digital signage and rental and staging, or any audio/video system using HDMI v1.3 with 1080p full HD resolution.

The Mini 1:8 Splitter for HDMI v1.3 allows users to select either two-channel or multi-channel 7.1 audio. A switch for internal or external EDID ensures any selectable signal transmission to all eight displays at all times.

The GefenTV 1:8 Mini Splitter for HDMI v1.3 comes with a locking power supply and one HDMI locking cable. The locking possibility for HDMI cables adds robustness to the installation.

Adobe teases Prelude at the San Francisco Supermeet, FCPUG changes its name

Scott Simmons | 01/28

The Adobe sneak looks intriguing. Makes me excited for CS6.

From the looks of Twitter last night there were a couple of surprises at the Friday evening’s San Francisco Supermeet. First bit of news I saw was that Final Cut Pro User Group (FCPUG) has decided to drop the Final Cut Pro designation from their name to become the Creative Pro User Group. Second was a sneak peek from Adobe about a new application called Prelude.

The FCP X update? It matters….is now the time to jump on board?

More Info About the Final Cut X Update(Sponsored by FMC)

FCP X has caused quite a controversy in the video community; between massive changes in software design and a struggle for professional workflows, the new version (while amazing) has been a rocky release for Apple.  This new update starts to address some of the criticisms from professionals.

Why Apple’s update should matter for you:

The update for FCPX shows one thing very clearly: Apple is listening. …
