Greenscreen Primer Part 2

by Alex Lindsay

imageIn the first installment, we looked at the basic set up for shooting Greenscreen. Most of what I covered is exactly what we see people skip everyday. What I’m going to talk about next is what everyone else ignores at their peril. We’re talking about capture systems and codecs.

Moving Footage From Final Cut Pro to After Effects

by Richard Harrington

imageGetting your footage from Final Cut Pro to After Effects is a very common workflow. In fact, so many people choose to work this way that there are several free and for sale workflow tools on the market. Two web based tools currently in late beta anticipate the needs of post production more directly. Shotgun has been adopted at large facilities around the world and will be profiled separately; this article focuses on ShotRunner, and my own experiences using it as a visual effects supervisor on a pair of feature films.
