fxguide shares more from SIGGRAPH

fxguidetv #116 shares more details from the joint Adobe-NVIDIA research project demonstrating accelerated ray-traced 3D seen in NVIDIA Optix from Chris Meyer.

fxguide talks with Adobe’s Steve Forde who hints that future directions could include 3D geometry and scene renders inside After Effects and maybe a direct pipeline to 3D app data. Phil Miller of NVIDIA was also interviewed at SIGGRAPH 2011, and it seems that Optix may allow for hooks for plug-in developers too. Hopefully, Adobe will not stop development on what’s possible just because Apple slows updates on NVIDIA drivers on their platform.
