Scott Gentry

Scott Gentry started his career as a child actor then moving to ABC All My Children first in production straight out of college, then in front of the camera for a short stint as a regular walk-on (woo-hoo!).

Scott also worked the stadium camera for NY Jets and Giants games, as well a a multitude of events at the Meadowlands arena in NJ. From there he got into publishing and 6 months after sending his resume to DV magazine, he was the publisher. DV went from last to first place and Scott moved on to AV Video Multimedia Producer and led the team to turn that into Studio Monthly and launch Studio Daily.

Scott founded and helped establish PVC by gathering the best writers and video gurus in the market and putting them all in one place.

Happy Birthday to PVC!

ProVideo Coalition turns 2 years old this week.

Barely out of diapers, PVC has come a long way in the last two years.  Traffic continues to grow at a rapid pace, and the number of writers stands at about 25 of the best talent out there.

There are some great things planned for PVC this year and beyond.  We can’t even tell you about our NAB partnership yet, nudge, nudge wink, wink.  Let’s just say, that we’re working closely with NAB to deliver a ton of information in preparation for the NAB Show as well as a ton of video and stories in what we’re calling NAB RealTime.  I can’t tell you about that yet though…I also can’t tell you about our NAB partnership for our sister site ProAudio Coalition.

If you like what PVC is all about, please be sure to share that with the vendors you purchase from.  The writers at PVC truly are a coalition of writers each sharing in the revenue of the site.  The site, and all of the great info you see is free, so we must generate income through advertising.  Therefore the best thing you can do to help PVC continue to deliver the best content available, and support the great writing talent, (beyond simply sending us loads of cash…) is to share your thoughts on PVC whenever you make a purchase.  You know the routine…where did you learn about this product, what’s your favorite source of information, Blah, Blah, Blah.

As I mentioned, we have some fantastic things coming this year, and some should be announced at NAB.  Stay Tuned!  Now for the birthday slaps…
