These are a few of the things that I found myself searching for as I’ve been moving over to Premiere Pro CS6 as a FCP 7 replacement
Adobe is making a big play for Final Cut Pro users with their CS6 release of Premiere Pro. It’s vastly improved over the Premiere Pro of old and is a lot like Final…

I give the new 3D Camera Tracker some pretty crazy footage to track
Since the announcement of the Adobe CS6 Production Premium was made, there are a lot of great tutorials and examples made with the product to show off the new features. Most use nicely shot footage with dolly shots or smooth steady-cam work with lots of great contrasting detail to track, which…

The new Premiere continues to impress.
I was fortunate to get my hands on an early release of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and an edit that came up last week…

I took the survey. It took me two days to complete because of interruptions and long-windedness in the comments. It would be interesting to hear what others posted.
In the comment section I asked Adobe to have an even more liberal policy that would let me buy the Production suite and run it on my Mac and my PC as long as I didn’t run them at the same time. I’m considering moving back to the Windows world (for the less expensive hardware) since Apple isn’t keeping FCP on the cutting edge.
-
I also suggested that they come up with a node-based compositing application. Autodesk is now bundling Toxik with Maya 2010, along with some other useful tools. I’ve avoided Autodesk because I perceive them as less than user-friendly.
-
I really like the feature in Encore which lets a DVD author create a Flash app for the web which emulates the whole DVD, menus and all. That’s the first thing I wished for when I started using DVD Studio Pro.
-
I also suggested that anything they can do to make videos less search-opaque on the web would be useful. Perhaps automating the inclusion of searchable tags or even a full transcript. When you search the transcript, the links should jump you into the video right before that section or even the nearest chapter point. Also having chapter navigation built into the players by default. It can be done now, but it’s not easy.
-
That’s what I thought. What did you think?
Peace,
Rob:-]
