Red have pulled out of NAB. In the words of Jim “We will hold our own RED event when we have something to show”.

That slipped my mind. No Apple, Avid or RED. What is NAB coming too?

Nice still, but I wonder why they always only show quite strange objects ... or animals ... on black background. Both the sun glasses (that teased the Red One) and this thing could be CGI.
What about “the real world”? Wouldn’t that be more of a teaser?

Avid said officially a few months ago that they were going to exhibit in the South Hall at NAB this year. Did they make a U-turn?
There are also pretty strong rumors about a new FCS announcement coming soon. This would fit in with Apple’s 2-year intervals between major releases, and probably like last time it would be word now and product in the fall.

The close-up is a natural way to show an image that is beyond reproach.
Hey, it worked for Standard Definition television, making things look sharp with 480 lines (after subtracting the overscan, even less than that!).
At the image size in the story above, it is at least conceivable that even a $10.00 keychain digital camera could have produced it, getting help with the contrast rendition from the hard lighting.
This is not to diminish the Scarlet, as I’m sure they just picked something fun and stylish.
