When you remap the Final Cut Pro keyboard the application is smart enough to display those re-mapped keys in the app’s menus. While this can be handy if you forget where you’ve mapped something it’s also helpful if you sit down at a different FCP install and the keys don’t seem to be reacting like they do on your own FCP install (or the default keyboard). Of course then you could just go to Tools > Keyboard Layout and check the keyboard template and/or load another.
