Miss me? I hope so. Here’s what I stayed up all night writing.
ProPhotoCoalition front page domination? Like A Boss.
By Mike Curtis | March 08, 2012
So if you read this article about how and to what my passions have shifted, you'll know I'm kinda into DSLRs now. Not for the video like most everyone else, but for timelapse. Huh? Yup. And not just any kind of timelapse, but HDR (High Dynamic Range) timelapse. So when Nikon and Canon announced new mid-range and top end full frame DSLRs this year, I was kinda Into It.
So I read all I could about the Canon 1DX and 5D Mark III, as well as the Nikon D4 and D800. I have a D800 and D4 on pre-order, but don't know if I'll follow through, based on my particular and nerdy needs. But I have thought a bit about all these cameras, how they compare, what would it cost to kit them out, why they were designed the way they were. I have a friend who was thinking about buying the 5D Mark III as I was rethinking my D800 purchase, so I started writing down my thoughts. How many thoughts? Over 13,000 words worth. Wanna read'em all? Sure you do (insert Obi Wan "These aren't the droids you're looking for." finger wave).
