Once again I’m honored to be teaching/leading/presenting (and learning myself) a number of classes at this year’s Post|Production World Conference at the National Association of Broadcasters convention. This is always a highlight of my year as it gets me out of the editing suite and working outside of my comfort zone. More importantly it’s fun and I meet a lot of great people.

This is always a highlight of my year as it gets me out of the editing suite and working outside of my comfort zone. More importantly it’s fun and I meet a lot of great people.

I may have said this in year’s past shameless self-promotion but I really learn a lot from these sessions. I might like to think I know everything about a class topic but that is far the truth. I always learn a lot as I’m researching, testing and putting together the classes. A step beyond that I learn from the attendees who come to these classes. There are often questions asked that make me think, topics that I have to research later and discussion amongst the attendees that bring a lot of useful information out into open. I’m always amazed at the different levels of experience and the different background from which the attendees come. There are a lot of different kinds of productions out there and most of them come to Post|Production World. Be sure and check out the PPW site as there’s a lot of great stuff offered through the conference, many of them taught by fellow ProVideo Coalition contributors.

I’m not a professionally trained trainer. I’m just an editor who has been fortunate enough to fall into teaching sessions at PPW for the last few years.
