It seems everyone wants a piece of the HDSLR pie, and Sennheiser USA is no exception. With Rode microphones and Zoom recorders aggressively achieving an early HDSLR market position, Sennheiser is a bit late in the game, but according to Kevin Waehner of Sennheiser, their new MKH 8060 shotgun brings a high end solution for those seeking a camera top shot gun microphone.
Waehner tells us at NAB 2011, that the MKH 8060 will ensure the highest sound quality under some of the toughest climatic conditions that tend to compromise the quality of some other microphones. The RF transducer design produces high sensitivity and low distortion.
The microphone is ideal for not only camera mounting but boom mounting as well. MKH 8060 is Sennheiser’s first short shotgun to interface directly into digital systems via the MZD 8000 digital module.
