Airport Helipak for 3DR Solo

Airport Helipak for 3DR Solo

With the bag for the 3DR Solo drone, Think Tank Photo offers, now, three solutions for different drones in their Airport Helipak series. After DJI Phantom and Inspire it’s the time for 3D Robotics drone to have its own backpack.

Maximum capacity, comfort and portability are three adjectives you’ll remember while using the Airport Helipak for 3DR Solo. Able to carry a whole 3DR Solo with extras, a laptop, GoPros, jacket tools and much more, the backpack weighs only 4.6 lbs. (2.1 kg) – without your gear that is – a lightweight solution that drone users will appreciate. Think Tank Photo built the Airport Helipak for 3DR Solo as an alternative to the rigid cases that lack, in its own words, extra carrying capacity and comfort. The new backpack promises 3DR drone enthusiasts they will be able to carry all of their gear with them all the time.

“The number one complaint of drone users about their bags is that, after just a few hours, their bodies are rebelling from the pain,” said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank’s CEO and lead designer.  “For a decade we’ve released photography and outdoor backpacks designed to hold expensive and extremely heavy photographic equipment.  The very same principles we used for them have been integrated into the Airport Helipak for 3DR Solo backpack.  Now they can venture deep afield with all of their gear and no concerns about comfort.”

With a custom divider set specifically designed for the 3DR Solo that also allows you to reconfigure your bag depending on what gear you’re carrying, the new backpack is compatible with international and domestic carry on size luggage sizes, still holds inside a 3DR Solo, 15” laptop, controller, GoPros, charger, spare rotors, extra batteries, jacket, tools, and still has space for some more extras.

The usual quality you expect from a Think Tank Photo product is present, with the extras you expect in a backpack made to carry a drone: protective rotor thread caps are included, along with internal see-through mesh pockets for small accessories, things like rotor blades, screwdriver, cables, etc. Elastic pockets on shoulder strap for phone, cliff bar, goo pack, and a water bottle pocket on side are some of the details of a backpack that costs $ 199.75.
