Today Avid released a separate Ikegami GFCAM AMA (Avid Media Access) plug-in, furthering Avid’s ongoing commitment to deliver timely support for industry-standard video codecs. The GFCAM plug-in is another milestone in the introduction of AMA, as announced in March 2009.
Avid’s GFCAM plug-in brings:
*Faster time-to-edit for deadline-intensive environments, from film and television programming to news production, and
*Full metadata support of GFCAM material for improved clip and project management.
Post and broadcast professionals will no longer need to transcode or copy GFCAM material before using it in their Avid editing system. This removes previous steps in post production, ultimately providing improved capabilities to edit without delay. Furthermore, customers can also now deliver GFCAM final masters without additional format transcoding.
