This is a thought provoking article on big data and creativity.
I can see how creativity is contributing to massive amounts of data that is being created, especially on the social or personal level.
However, within organizations I truly believe that creativity is indeed being stifled. There are still too many demands to to do more with less and to produce results that are purely data (numbers) driven. This leaves very little room for creativity. Less creativity leaves little room to be innovative which results in missed opportunities for something great to foster. I look at organizations like Google where their employees are encouraged to be creative and work on additional projects. I use Google almost everyday in one form or another.
Let me know how you are dealing with enormous amounts of data in your organization and if you feel it is helping your inner creativity or hindering it!
