Hey all – in case you didn't notice, I don't post here much any more. Partly because I’ve switched my focus from digital workflow issues over to generating my own workflow issues (ha). Over the past few years, I’ve been shooting motion controlled, HDR (high dynamic range) time-lapse.
So next Wednesday, Nov 6, from 11am – 1pm, I'm hosting a workshop at Createasphere’s Entertainment Technology Expo (#ETE13) in Burbank (the Marriott Burbank Airport) on How To Shoot Time-lapse. I’ll be talking about the technical side (cameras, gear, settings, shoot prep & planning, logistics) as well as the creative (what tends to look good, what are some mistakes to avoid).
Why show up you ask? Well…
I’ll have several cameras set up so you can get ‘hands on’ … as well as a CamBLOCK motion control system.
There’s over a million frames of time-lapse to share, shot in Italy, Switzerland, Honduras, California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and more
It’s an open dialogue on what worked and what didn't. Key findings from the various locations, right down to the nitty gritty of what gear lends itself to what kinds of shots
Because I have a ton of detailed notes, thoughts, maps, cheat sheets, apps suggestions, spreadsheets and lists to help you plan…and a whole lot more.
And…because it'll be FUN.
Here's a sample of my work that I'll be showing and discussing how to do these kinds of things:
