DR deploys Dalet Enterprise Edition to power its newsroom operations

DaletPlus metadata and workflow engine powers news workflows for 2000 plus users

Levallois-Perret, France – June 9, 2009 –DR, the public service broadcaster of Denmark, has successfully deployed Dalet Enterprise Edition to power its newsroom operations. The system is running in twelve different sites, including all of DR’s regional locations and the new broadcast headquarters in Copenhagen. Its implementation, which required multiple, complex integrations with graphics, broadcast and customized production systems, was carefully planned and executed over a 3-year period.

“This was a very big project with a lot of different workflows,” comments Jan Fredholm, the DR Resource Manager who is responsible for the Dalet systems. “It was critical to find a newsroom computer system that was flexible enough to simultaneously handle multiple channel operations. And because we have many customized systems, we needed seamless integrations and a high level of interoperability to ensure consistent and efficient workflows. The integration expertise of the Dalet Professional Services team and integrator SGI/Silex helped achieve our goals.”
