After years of bringing standardized color calibration to professional video markets, DSC Labs introduces CineZone, a remarkable new resolution chart incorporating many test elements and a slate on one neat chart.
Working with Hollywood engineers, CineZone was designed with today’s producers in mind. The ideal tool for cinematographers and engineers, the CineZone pattern incorporates a number of essential elements for testing lenses and cameras at different distances and f. stops, while on the back is a reliable CamWhite white balancing chart.
Conveniently sized to slip in a camera bag, CineZone is ideal for testing sharpness, acutance, aliasing and resolution, along with18% grey for exposure. Both curved and in vertical and horizontal configurations, resolution gratings in blocks and hyperbolics from 100 to 800 LPPH are ideal for testing various lens systems. LPPH is used for consistency with various screen resolutions. On the back, DSC’s patented spectrophotometrically neutral white, for white balancing, incorporates a multi format framing chart and handy dry marker “Slate”.
Stephen Lucas of Hollywood says “Designed for SD, HD, Cine, 2K, 4K, and future formats, the answer is CineZone! I enjoyed working with DSC Labs to create this new chart and feel that the CineZone will become a standard piece of gear required on all shoots, since it has so many useful functions.”
