Hosted by award-winning actress Jane Lynch and award-winning television personality Phil Keoghan, the live television special “Earth Live” airing on the National Geographic Channel is a unique opportunity to experience wildlife in real time, from the comfort of your living room, through the lenses and vision of the world’s greatest wildlife cinematographers, photographers and explorers. For many people it will be as close as they can get to some wildlife, so it really sounds as the adventure of a lifetime.

Earth Live will give viewers access to key locations across six continents — from South America to Asia and everywhere in between — as world-renowned cinematographers use cutting-edge technology to showcase a number of wildlife firsts. The show is, in fact, also an opportunity to appreciate what technology can do to give us a glimpse of all the natural world, sometimes living right outside our door, and a unique look at the behind the scenes for the production of a wildlife documentary.
From big to small cameras, all the way to views from above that only drones allow us to discover, Earth Live is a compendium of how technology has changed the way we capture images of the world around us. The Canon ME20F-SH Multi-Purpose Camera is one of the cameras being used. The broadcast will feature live feeds from nine nine Canon ME20F-SH cameras used on the six continents covered by the live show.

The Canon ME20F-SH, which features outstanding low-light capabilities with ISO that can go up 4 million, allows for viewers to virtually see in the dark and watch live wildlife lit only by the moon, in full color. “Earth Live” a two-hour broadcast will air live at 8:00 PM EST on Sunday, July 9th and will be aired globally in 171 counties and in 45 languages. The show is attempting to do what has never been done before – providing the audience with the unique perspective of viewing wildlife in their natural habitat, unfiltered and raw. If all goes according to the plan, this is the inaugural session for Earth Live.
