Glue Tools releases Phantom Cine Toolkit v2.0.10 and ARRIRAW Toolkit 1.0.3. Included in these releases are a number of small fixes (including a correction to the “White Point from Camera” for Phantom Cine) and a new Debayer Algorithm for both products.
Below you will see the new Debayer (GT Hybrid A) and previous best quality version (Pixel Grouping). Imagery selected for this example is from an early model V-Series Phantom Camera. This is by no means representative of the image quality of Vision Research cameras. We chose noisy imagery to show the capability of the “GT Hybrid A” Debayer Algorithm.
The new Debayer Mode is a major improvement over any of the other Debayer Modes that Glue Tools has offered. When doing a comparison, fine details such as wood grain, small type, etc, are now sharper and easier to see. The trade off when using this Debayer Mode, will be a performance hit. Only use this mode when rendering your imagery out to another QuickTime codec or for final output. The original debayer modes are still available, for playback, and quick review. These lower quality modes are recommended when playback speed is desired. As with the other Debayer Modes, the faster your computer is, the better playback performance you can expect to have.
These new versions are both free updates to Phantom 2.0.x and ARRIRAW 1.0.x license owners.
