GoPro’s in-house production crew are the guys responsible for creating things like the Hero 3+ launch video, currently sitting at over 16 million view on YouTube. If there’s ever anything you wanted to learn about shooting with a GoPro, these are the guys to teach it to you.
I’m a subscriber to GoPro’s YouTube channel but this is the first time I have discovered that they actually have an entirely separate channel dedicated to tutorials, not unsurprisingly called GoProTutorials. With these cameras becoming standard issue these days for crash cams, C-cams and aerial cams on drones, it makes sense for filmmakers to learn a little more about them and to be prepared to find them on set. This week they launched a new 3-part series called the Field Guide which walks through some of the more complex functions such as Protune and the various field of view options.
Even if you haven’t yet used a GoPro, this is a great little series that will give you a good foundation to get started with when you do. GoPro’s team will also be partaking in a Twitter chat on August 27th from 6 – 7pm PST if you find yourself left with any questions after having watched the videos.
