Hedge Connect – Get file backup and file transfer updates on your iPhone

If you’ve been a user of the Mac-based file transfer and backup application Hedge then you might be interested in Hedge Connect. This $9.99 Mac app (App Store link) will connect with an iOS device and alert you when a job has completed or if there are any problems with the transfer. Hedge Connect creates a secure connection with the smartphone or tablet and setup is as simple as entering an access code on the phone. You can also get an alert on an Apple Watch.

In an effort to keep the entire set up to date on file transfers Hedge Connect supports multiple users so more than one user can monitor a transfer. There’s a number of security measures in place as well. These bullet points are from the Hedge Connect announcement:

• You can only connect when the macOS Connect prefpane is active.
• Turning off Connect in Hedge stops sending notifications, but no connections will be closed.
• Refreshing the access code forces all previous connections to close.
• Reset on quit is on by default. Only uncheck this if you’re the sole user of your Mac and only have your own smart devices connected.
