At Createasphere's Entertainment Technology Expo the HOW'D YOU GET THAT SHOT@?! was again one of the highlights of the show. The audience was able to meet the amazing operators and cinematographers who have gotten the shots that defy description and bend reality. We were able to talk with the panelists from the Society of Camera Operators one-on-one about a few of the highlights from the panel and their experiences out in the field.
Mark August has been a camera operator since 1989. He has spent the last 23 years as a military combat camera operator and is currently in the Navy reserves. He has been on active duty in the 1st Gulf War (Desert Storm) and currently the Global War on Terrorism. In this interview he discusses filming the Endeavor and the challenges he encountered in this once-in-a-lifetime project.
Christopher Tufty is a multiple award-winning cinematographer. He has been operating a camera ever since first volunteering to be the cameraman for filmschool projects at Ithaca College in New York. His first full time A camera television job was “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” with Michael Gershman as DP. Currently he is working on “The Closer” with David Harp. Tufty is also the President for the Society of Camera Operators. In this interview he talks about a particularly challenging shot that he was able to get while on location.
Haley Jackson began her career as an ENG Photographer while putting herself through college in Colorado. She has been directing, writing and producing ever since for some of the world's top brands.
